We just sat down for an early dinner.... After Prayer I handed the plates out and Kayla began to eat.
Heidi-Mom, Kayla's eating already!
Me-That's perfectly fine because we already had prayer.
Heidi-What?!? I didn't hear it.
Cannon-I just said it Heidi.
Me-We all bowed our heads and we all said amen when it was over.
Heidi-(I see the light bulb in her eyes as she remembers the prayer) Oh ya. I was just testing you Mom. (giggle giggle)
Something funny happens every dinner time with out fail. I LOVE watching my kids develop their personalities and grow.

I've been thinking a lot about this post since I first read it several days ago. One of my sons once gave a very similar example of this happening at our house during one of his Sac meeting talks. At first I felt bad about it but then I realized that if prayer weren't such an everyday common thing in our house it never would have happened that someone would have forgotten we said had said it! Not that we should have "routine" prayers that we don't pay attention to...but anything we do on a regular basis we are going to have days when we don't notice it as much. I hope I'm making sense. I'm also glad to know that our family is not the only one this has happened to :)) Heidi's too cute!
It sounds like a million conversations we've had at our table. I love how kids tattle on things like eating before the prayer and it's funny when they forget the prayer right after it's been said.
I already miss having Heidi in my primary class,she is such a doll to have aronud. I am super excited about my new class though!
