Make Over Maddness

I just thought I'd post a few of the make-overs I actually have pictures of. I love doing hair cuts, hair dos' and playing with make-up. Often times I look at people and feel like I know they are prettier then they think they are. I get a desire to show some people how I see their features and what can be done to bring them out. I wish I knew in my younger years what I have since figured out. My first "I'm gorgeous" moment happened after parenthood. When Heidi was a baby I was holding her and saying to my dad "I can't believe how pretty she is.! Look at her Dad. Heidi is soooooooo gorgeous." My dad said "She looks just like you. Looking at her is like dashavue." (I have no idea how to spell that word. I hope you all can figure out what I mean.) I asked "Really?" My Dad nodded and I thought to myself "I'm Gorgeous!" I know this story might seem weird to some or most of you. I never thought I was ugly, but after seeing my image in my children I began to appreciate the features I was given. I also want to be sure you all know I DON"T think I'm prettier then any of you!!!!!!!!!!Since being a mother I've also started to see everybody and all children from a more beautiful perspective. I've developed the ability accentuate facial features with make-up. As far as hair cuts go............I've been cutting boys hair for a long time before I was brave enough to do a girls hair. My sister-in-law Julie was the first person I really gave a new look to. I've enjoyed it ever since and have gotten a little bit better with each hair cut. Thanks for being my Ginni pig Hulio! I wish I had more pics for this blog. Maybe I'll ask some people to email me prom pic so I can show some more full make-over pics. Please double click on a few pics to see details. This picture might seem a little weird for me to put on but I'm posting it because I like the colors of my make-up. This was the first time I got my hair cut short. The style to my hair has changed a lot. In fact it took 3 different hair cuts to get what I wanted. I really wish I could take my head off my body, cut my hair, then put my head back!!!!! I like how this picture shows the shape of my eyebrows. That is one of my specialties for others. I love a great frame for eyes.

This is my friend Liz Cox. She is a gorgeous girl that doesn't wear make-up very often. I gave her a full makeover (hair cut/style and make-up) then had her husband bring her children over to play while they went on a date. We love the Cox's! They are a great family!!!!!
This is my very good friend Amy Burbidge. We went to a wedding together for a mutual friend . The wedding was on the beach. I gave Amy a wispy up-do. We took some pretty pics! One of these days I'll do a post just with pic's from that trip. We had so much fun together.

Heidi on a Sunday. Just something a little different.
Kayla on a same Sunday.
These pics are from the wedding Amy and I went to. Our friend Heather Smith asked me to do the girls hair for the wedding. The wedding was beautiful.

This is Misty Kay. She is a young women in my ward. Many of our YW have joined the "Pre-Prom at the Gage's" club. I always do a dress rehearsal so we know exactly what the plan is for the night of the formal or prom. I took all these pics and emailed them to her so she could decide between the up-do or down. She decided on the up-do. The dress rehearsal is also for the parents. That way there are no surprises about the amount of make-up or how grown up their girls look. It is so fun to do formal looks. The girls come with magazine pics and ideas then I get to play with their beautiful faces and hair. I have no pics from the night of prom because I am too busy. Five girls that all going to prom the same night ..........It's a blast but it is busy!

This is Mom Gage. I just colored and cut her hair yesterday at the Gage Easter Egg Hunt. She is such a good sport and lets me do whatever I want. LOVE THAT! Cutting hair is a messy job but I love the end results. I love to show people what they can do with what they have. A good, to date, hair cut can make you look younger.

This is Mariah. I can't believe I didn't get a shot of her face!!!!!! It just got busy. I gave her a hair cut at the Easter Egg Hunt too. I guess as far as hair cuts go, long hair is harder to see the style. But, with long hair you have more hair-do options.

I put this pic up because I wanted to show a super easy hairstyle that can be done the day before. Kayla is sporting the 3 topsi tails in the bang section of her hair. I often bath the girls at night and do a style like this to make the mornings easy. It's also great for trips. It stays in for days. I also did her friend, Eliza Dunning, hair that morning too. She was over before Pre-school and asked me to give her a "Kayla Twist".
This is Mechelle my sister-in-law. This is the first time I gave her a full make-over. She is a very good sport. Now she is 50lbs lighter then she was in this pic. Go Mechelle!!!!!!! Notice the great eyebrow shape and pretty make-up colors.

You always do such a great job with makeup and hair! Lucky for you I let you do whatever you want to my hair. Suddenly I'm glad that you've never taken a picture of me afterwards.
